Grgich Hills 2012 Yountville Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon - Red Wine

Red Wine by Grgich Hills from Napa Valley, California. This wine is made from some of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the Napa Valley, planted in 1959 to the Inglenook clone (also known as Niebaum Cabernet Sauvignon #29) on St. George rootstock in Yountville. Closer to San Pablo Bay than warmer Rutherford, this relatively cool region allows the grapes plenty of time to develop unique flavor characteristics. This complex wine with moderate tannins is aged in French oak for 21 months then moved to large oak casks for six additional months. This is a full-bodied and well balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with rich flavors of blackberries, black licorice and a hint of allspice with a long, seductive finish. Having the patience to cellar this wine will reward you in the glass years from now. Serve with simply roasted meat dishes or all by itself to fully enjoy the wine's complex flavors. Blend: 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc

Ransom 2013 Rogue Valley Cabernet Franc - Red Wine
$27.99

Red Wine by Ransom from Oregon. Oregon's Rogue Valley is ripe for the reinterpretation of Bordeaux varietals, and this Cabernet Franc is true to both its heritage and the wild terroir of the Southern Cascades. The wine is a lustrous violet hue in the glass, offering vivid aromas of elderberry and Szechuan peppercorn. A juicy streak of acidity provides contrast and connection to the concentrated flavors of blackcurrant and pancetta and fine weathered stone tannins on the palate with a juicy streak of acidity. The finish persists with a savory vestige of wild huckleberry and alpine sage. Drink now or hold; we believe it will cellar elegantly for at least a decade.
