Red Wine by Joseph Drouhin from Burgundy, France - regions. A revelation and a true wonder! The ruby red colour is magnificent and takes on a deeper hue with age. The aromas are intense and evoke raspberry and wild cherry, becoming more complex with age: undergrowth, truffle, candied fruit. A sublime structure, with refined tannins. It is a perfect example of this ideal of elegance according to Drouhin. A remarkable balance and a lingering persistence of flavors on the palate. It is a wine that always leaves the greatest impression.
Red Wine by Broadley from Willamette Valley, Oregon. Semi-transparent, medium body, vivid, ruby in the glass. Black raspberry, anise, and spicy notes of nutmeg, and cinnamon greet the nose. The mid-palate bursts of balanced acid and tannin with flavors of black cherry, cranberry and spice with a crisp full mouth finish.
Red Wine by Clos Pegase from Carneros, California. The 2012 Pinot Noir has deep enticing aromas of red and black cherries and olallieberry accented by dried porcini mushroom, pu-erh tea, sweet spices and wisps of church incense. The wine is silky and seamless in the mouth, balancing fleshiness with perfect acidity and an opulent mouthfeel.
Red Wine by Presqu'ile from Santa Maria Valley, California. The 2012 Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir offers what some consider the hallmarks of the AVA: balance, complexity and the ever-present Santa Maria spice. When compared to Presqu'ile single vineyard offerings, this wine is less tightly wound offering enjoyment at an earlier age but still built for the long haul with excellent structure and backbone of acidity. The nose of this deep ruby red wine offers a mix of black cherry, pomegranate, cassis, black tea, 5-spice and a hint of underbrush. Framed by a small amount of new oak, thepalate confirms a mixture of black and red fruit, cola, anise, black tea and a hint of mulling spice. Fine tannic structure, balanced acidity and a lingering finish round out theexperience. We suggest decanting for two hours before enjoying.
