Red Wine by Andrew Rich from Columbia Valley, Washington. A blend of our top three Syrah vineyards shows great precision on a medium-bodied frame. With flavors of blueberry and licorice and a suave, singing mouth feel (that is, it has richness and good acidity), it can easily slumber in your cellar for half a decade or more and can be enjoyed now with rich and meaty dishes.
Red Wine by Scholium Project from Carneros, California. The wine is intense and animal, with the complexity that we have only found recently in the Golgotha, from the higher, northern section of the rows. 2012 is so good that Androkteinos equals Golgotha from previous years, and the Golgotha soars. The wine is dense but graceful and perfumed- not all animal, but somehow beautiful and frightening at once.
Red Wine by Wind Gap from Sonoma County, California. Deeply fruited and structured, this is classic Sonoma Coast Syrah. Dark, dank aromas from Majik, lifted blue- fruits and purple flowers from Armagh and brilliant blackberry liqueur density from Nellessen, we love the completeness of this blend. Ready to drink on release, this wine will continue to improve for many years in your cellar.
Red Wine by Qupe from Central Coast, California. This is a big intense wine for a Qupe Syrah, clearly California and clearly cool climate Bien Nacido but with a distinct old world aspect from the whole clusters. This wine should easily age for 20 years.
